The losses continue to pile up and the frustration continues to mount for fans in “Birdland”.
At this point, there isn’t much else to say about the team that hasn’t already been beaten like a dead horse riding a rented mule. The manager’s search goes on, the young players continue to struggle without veteran leadership / protection, there are at least 3 teams in the NL who’s pitching staffs are outhitting the Orioles’ first basemen…
We need a break.
And in honor of that need of a break (and the promise of a real article on the manager’s search coming next week), I am going to instead find the perfect song to summarize this season of futility. I am enabling (and asking for) votes, so let me know what you think. And now, in a completely random list…
Especially the fans.
Hey, Arreta is 2-0, and pitched 7 innings of 3 hit ball last night.
I might not be doing any illicit drugs right now, but sometimes the MASN HD can feel like it is tearing a hole (and while this IS originally a NIN song, Johnny Cash automatically trumps all other artists by sheer force of awesomeness)…
Especially from about 7:05-10:30 on any given weeknight.
A ray of hope, Street Fighting Man for the soul of the fan style.
Being an Orioles fan for the last 12+ years kind of feels like going to the DMV (or MVA here in MD), at least from a “there goes 4 hours of my life” standpoint.
If it wasn’t why would this keep happening?
I average 4 or 5 a game these days…
And neither can Andy MacPhail right now.
I think the first line of the chorus sums it up nicely. Don’t you?
Okay, there are 10 choices. Please feel free to respond here, or email/Facebook me if you know me that way. Results next post!
