Half Time at Ivor Wynne

Posted By Jim Penner On Jun 20 2010 @ 3:13 pm In Winnipeg Blue Bombers | No Comments

27 – 10 Ticats and the Bombers haven’t looked good.  Buck Pierce only had on first down on 3 possessions.  Steven Jyles didn’t fare much better but did move the ball with his feet.  Aided by a horrendous in-bounds call on a Cory Watson reception at the 2 yard line, the Bombers scored their only touchdown of the half on a 2 yard crossing route pass to Terence Jeffers-Harris.  In fact on offence only Jeffers-Harris looked like he came out to play as both Adarius Bowman and Terence Edwards dropped the ball on easy catches.

On defence the Bombers held their own for about 20 minutes, but half way through the second quarter Kevin Glenn drove the ball at will to end the half with two TD passes.  The Bombers defence seem to tire after being on the field so long.  Multiple offside calls against the D must have driven the coaches crazy.

A botched punt return by Travis Shelton ended up as TD when Hamilton scooped up the ball and returned it about 35/40 yard for the score.  The half ended on a 9 yard FG by Serna.
