Michalek is a 6’2 210 pound right-handed Czech Republic Olympian. In 72 games, Michalek notched 3 goals and 17 assists in 2009-2010. He was a +5 last season
Zbynek is a defensive defenseman and appears to have placed Mark Eaton. He is half of the Pens new shutdown defensive pair. The only question is: who is Michalek’s shutdown partner?
The Penguins now have about $7M in salary cap space left. Ray Shero still needs another defenseman and a winger.
