As we wait on The Big Man (sorry Clarence) to make his move, here are some Knick happenings from around the web.
- According to realgm.com, Amar’e Stoudemire and the Knicks are close to a max deal. The framework, apparently, is in place. Stoudemire represents the not-so-secret plan B for Knicks. That is, “Let’s just re-create the D’Antoni Suns.” Not a terrible idea when you consider the consistent regular season success those teams had. As a Knicks fan, if you wouldn’t take that, I think you’ve forgotten what it feels like to win 25 games.
- Brian Windhorst from the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports: Here’s what I hear from yesterday: LeBron interested in Nets pitch but not so much NY. NY trying at moment to secure Amare’ to help cause”
Clearly, not surprised to hear that the Nets gave LBJ a better pitch. However, if Lebron likes Amar’e so much and Amar’e was “bowled over” by the Knicks, does this give the Knicks a better shot? I’d at least think it gets them a second meeting.
- ESPN.com reports that Dwayne Wade was “intrigued” by his meeting with the Knicks today. Wade is the dark horse in all of this. It is generally assumed that he is on his way back to South Beach. But what if he doesn’t? He has to be considered, at worst, the number two guy available. How much worse is Wade/Amar’e then LBJ/ Amar’e really? Or even Wade/Bosh. Sign me up for either.
Which rumor are you most “intrigued” by? Leave a comment!
