The (2-0) Calgary Stampeders and (1-1) Toronto Argonauts are ready to play tonight at 7:30pm EST on TSN at the Rogers Center in Toronto. This will be a rematch of their week 1 match up in Calgary that saw the Stampeders hand the Argos a 30-16 loss at McMahon Stadium.
The Stampeders are looking to see improvement out of the offense in the red zone. So far this season (and last year) the Stampeders are settling for too many field goals. On Defense Mike Labinjo has been hearing it in the papers from head coach Tom Hufnagel that he needs to produce. And the Stampeders kick teams need to get their act together. Already twice this season the opposition has returned a kick for a touchdown against Calgary.
The Argonauts are coming off a week 2 win beating the Bombers 36-34 in Winnipeg. Coach Jim Barker has to be pleased with the play of his starting QB Cleo Lemon. Lemon has only thrown for 354 yards and 1 TD but he hasn’t been throwing the INT’s. Only tossing 1 pick while still completing 60% of his passes. The defense will have to step up for the Argos giving up 34 and 30 points in the first two games. If they can hold the Stamps to 21 or less that would be the formula for a win.
Have a good one and enjoy the game!
