Surprise! Eddy Curry’s In Trouble…and other stories

From the Eddy Curry Needs Help file:

A warrant has been issued again for the arrest of Eddy Curry, this time for failure to pay in a civil case involving him having sex with a minor in 2001.

Can this guy do anything right? Curry is lucky he still has a job anywhere, why wouldn’t he be doing everything he can to turn his career around. But that is precisely why Eddy Curry is Eddy Curry. He’s got a ton of talent, but doesn’t have the motivation/desire/brains to use that talent to put together a good career. So much for Mike D’Antoni’s comments about Curry being a big part of 2010. But then again, did anyone ever believe that?

From Real GM:

The Knicks have made a contract offer to Shannon Brown using a portion of their remaining salary-cap room, according to Ken Berger of CBS Sports.

Alan Hahn from Newsday refuted Berger’s report on MSG’s Knicks Night Live program, saying that the Knicks have coveted Brown for a while, but no contract has been offered. Brown reportedly would like to stay in L.A, but sees a potential to earn a starting position in New York. He averaged a little over 8 points a game in 20 minutes for the Lakers last season.

More on the Fernandez trade:

Hahn also reports that Wilson Chandler would not be part of a deal for Portland swingman Rudy Fernandez.  In a word – good. The Knicks also cannot offer a first round pick until 2014, not that the would anyone. This makes it even harder to believe that the Knicks have enough available trade bait to get this done.
