Fourth-round pick AJ Edds tore the ACL in his right knee Monday and is out for the season. The promising young linebacker was a captain at Iowa and had been working with the second unit during training camp.
Linebackers likely to get more reps with Edds out include rookie Austin Spitler and JD Folsom. Those two will work with former Charger Tim Dobbins on the second unit.
AJ Edds’s injury is certainly a blow to the team, as he is loaded with potential. It appears we will have to wait until next year to see what he can do.
Karlos Dansby and Channing Crowder remain the likely starters at linebacker.
