On Saturday, the Alouettes and the Argonauts will battle for the 2nd time in the the last 3 weeks for 1st place in the East division. The first matchup was not much of a battle as the Alouettes dominated their opponents 41 to 10. That was the best game of the season for the Als. Their offense, defense, and special teams all showed up in that game and played 60 minutes.
When the Argos saw Anthony Calvillo leave the game last week in the 4th quarter, they were hoping that he would not be ready this week to make the trip to the Rogers Centre. The dislocation of his finger will not prevent AC in helping the Alouettes attempt to win a 6th consecutive win of the season. If the Als go on to defeat the Argos, they will have a 2 game cushion on the Argos for the top spot in the division. Calvillo was throwing early in the week with a glove but is now throwing with just a bandage on.
The Argos have had most of their success with comebacks in the 4th quarter. The Alouettes have been struggling in the 2nd half. They had a total of 31 yards and 1 first down in the second half of last week’s game against the Riders, but the defense was able to keep them in the game.
I believe that the Als players will be pumped that their QB will play after suffering a dislocation and the Alouettes will win big again against the Argos!
