Much to my personal surprise the CFL has chosen not to suspend any players from the melee’s between the Calgary Stampeders and Edmonton Eskimos where Calgary beat Edmonton 56-15 at McMahon Stadium.
Instead Mike Labinjo, Brandon Browner, and Rombe Bryant of the Stampeders received fines. Tremayne Kirkland and Andre Talbot of the Eskimos also received fines for their actions.
As I had stated in my post game blog, I am shocked that Mike Labinjo, and Tremayne Kirkland did not get suspended. Labinjo clearly dropped a couple of knee shots on Andre Talbot. While in the same altercation Tremayne Kirkland threw a handful of punches in the skirmish.
The CFL is setting a dangerous precedent in my opinion.
Have a good one!
