The 2010 F1 season has been spectacular after 12 events. With only 7 races remaining the hunt to be world champion is officially GO GO GO! From the media circus following Michael Schumacher’s disappointing return to F1, to most importantly the chase to be crowned champion between 5 drivers; who has 20pts separating them. Leading after 12 events is Reb Bull Racing Mark Webber with 161PTS, followed by McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton with 157PTS, 3rd, 4th and 5th being held by Red Bull Racing’s Sebastian Vettel 151PTS, reining world champion; McLaren’s Jenson Button 147PTS & Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso with 141PTS.
News surrounding F1′s intention of adding a 13th racing team on the starting grid as of 2011, has surfaced as well. Former Canadian world F1 champion Jacques Villeneuve has speculated joining forces with the Italian “Durango Racing Team”. Other rumors believes he is joining forces with Flavio Briatore et Pat Symonds. Since, Jacques has confirmed he is partner with “DRT”. The team would be named “Villeneuve Racing” and will be in competition with “Anderson F1″, led by former designer and USF1 principal Ken Anderson & “Stefan Grand Prix” who would use a Cosworth engine should they be granted a entry. Teams such as USF1 & Lola Racing will not be applying in 2011 primary because of a lack of funds.
Up next in the F1 world is the 2010 Belgian Grand Prix from Spa-Francorchamps on August 27-29 2010.
Happy racing & be safe!!!
