One week to go and the season starts again for the Buffalo Bills. Will they break their playoff drought? It’s hard to believe that the music city miracle was their last playoff game. With cuts made, the only surprise cut was that of their 2008 second round pick James Hardy. Standing 6 ft 6 inches I believe that he can be a successful 3rd receiver for a team that may be dealing with injuries.
Many prognosticators have picked the Bills to finish with 2-14 record, second last in the league and no chance of the playoffs. As a Buffalo fan, I always tell myself that this year will be the year. I’ve changed my tune a little these past few years. I’m simply looking for some consistency in our quarterback. We’ve seen what Trent Edwards can do in 2008 starting 5-1, and with a pre season that looked promising going 28-41 for 370 yards , 2 touchdown and 1 interception, perhaps he has finally shaken out those cobwebs from the Adrian Wilson hit against the Cardinals. If he and Evans can click I’m sure we’ll see some exciting plays, keeping the fans and players in the game.
I see the Buffalo going 4-2 in the Division, sweeping Miami and finally getting a win over the Patriots on September 26th and going to the playoffs for the first time since 2000, finishing the season with a 10-6 record. Wins over Jaguars, Chiefs, Bears (in Toronto), Lions, Bengals and Browns. It might be far fetched but I’ll always give the Bills a chance.
I’m going to pick Indianapolis over Green Bay in Super Bowl XLV in Dallas on February 6th, 2011. (Side Note: my wife says PFFT to Aaron Rodgers!!)
Happy tailgating to those who will be attendance on Sunday, and for those watching at home, enjoy your wings and beer, I know I will.
