I don’t know this as fact but I am going to assume this was the biggest victory on Labour Day in the Calgary-Edmonton history of the game. The Stamps walked all over the Eskimos all day in front of a packed house at McMahon Stadium. Handing the Eskimos their worst loss of the season 52-5.
No in depth break down today because there really is no need. However I will highlight a few points.
You know it’s bad when you get more points from opponents conceding safeties (6) than your opponent scores in the game. (5)
Henry Burris passed Dieter Brock for 10th place on the CFL’s all time passing leaders!
Joffrey Reynolds is now a little over 50 yards from becoming the Stampeders all time leading rusher. I suspect he’ll break that mark on Friday in the return match in Edmonton.
Eskimos coach Richie Hall looked sick the entire game and I couldn’t blame him. Too bad he will lose his job. He is a good football man!
Edmonton can now tear down the ‘City Of Champions’ sign and replace it with a ‘City Of First Overall Picks Sign’
Next up for the Stamps is the return match with the Eskimos on Friday in Edmonton. Normally it’s hard for one team to win both these games, but as of right now there is no reason to suspect that the Eskimos are ready to put up much of a fight right now.
Have a good one!
