Most people will say this season in Dallas Nation that we all have high expectations from this years Dallas Cowboy squad. With that being said we haven’t even started the regular season and the NFL season is a long one so I am not one to want to jump the gun. The Cowboys finished 12-6 last year, won a playoff game and this year everyone will look to better that record both regular season and playoffs. Don’t forget that this years Super Bowl is in Texas stadium so there is extra incentive to have the Cowboys make a run for it this year.
The opening game has the Cowboys visiting a newly re-vamped Washington Redskin squad but if you want to read up on the Redskins see what Washington blogger Mercedes Green has to say about the Redskins.
As far as this years Cowboy squad, the Cowboys will look to better themselves on defence, make sure the offence puts as many…..dare I say, if not more points on the scoreboard as they did last year and Dallas will be successful. I know all the stars have to align but hey, outside of a somewhat average pre-season, I see good things out of this years Cowboy squad. Otherwise, there will be trouble in Dallas but I am going to stay optimistic and focus on the positive side of the field.
Naturally many eyes will be watching Dallas to see if the team is better than their pre-season record/stats showed. Clearly this year’s pre-season was not what the Cowboys wanted and they are going to have to be much better.
Dallas didn’t do a lot of transactions this off-season, but 12-6 last year is nothing to be ashamed of so a few tweaks here and there, along with keeping continuity on the roster should hopefully all the Cowboys to be a little better than last season.
Some lingering questions to ask from a Cowboys standpoint. Can Tony Romo put up numbers like last year? Will Dallas score points like last year? What kind of year will wide receiver Miles Austin have, as good as last year? Will Dez Bryant be an effective rookie or a distraction? Will Mr. Reliable Jason Witten be there in the clutch, 3rd down baby!!!!!! The running game….. Tashard Choice, Felix Jones, Marion Barber, not a bad running game at all if you are in a fantasy football pool. But who stays healthy? How will the Dallas defence do? Big question mark there but all that being said it leaves a lot of grey areas as to comments or questions coming from this years Dallas Squad. Game time is 8:20 EST, Sunday night, I will be coming home from the Buffalo Bills / Miami Dolphins game in Buffalo and hope my couch is ready for me to rock and roll for a great Dallas/Washington game.
Keep the faith folks, here comes NFL season 2010 Dallas style; remember everything is bigger in Texas……
