Two weeks ago veteran Bill Guerin was seen skating and working out at the Flyers Skate Zone Practice Facility. The word was that Guerin was looking for a tryout with some contending NHL teams. After apparently receiving zero offers from other teams, Guerin returned to Vorhees, NJ once again. Only this time he had a conversation with Flyers GM Paul Holmgren, asking for a tryout and invite to Flyers camp. The two sides have reportedly agreed, and Guerin will report to Flyers training camp on September 17th, on a tryout basis.
Where Guerin would fit on the team is yet to be determined, as the Flyers don’t have much room, if any at the forward position. Guerin could out play the likes of Powe or Shelley, but I can’t see Guerin’s minutes coming on the 4th line. Simply, Guerin will have to have a good showing in camp and make where to fit him in the Flyers problem.
