Pats Look Good in Week 1

Things are looking pretty good in New England. The Pats came out firing in Week 1 versus the Cincinnati Bengals. Wes Welker had ACL surgery this past year? It sure did not look like it. Welker played like he always has for the Pats even with a recently repaired knee. He finished the game with 8 catches for 64 yards and 2 TDs. Opposite of him is the notoriously talented Randy Moss who caught 5 balls for 59 yards. After his first 2 TDs thrown to Welker, Tom Brady eased up a bit already having a big lead. Brady started the game early with 130 yards and 2 TDs, but only finished with 258 yards on 25 completions with 3 TD passes. The game was pretty much over after the first half with the Pats leading the Bengals 24-3.
The second half started off great with a 97 yard kick-off return TD by the 22-year old Brandon Tate. The Bengals had a slight comeback effort, but it was simply not enough for Brady and the Pats. New England ended up winning the game 38-24.
After Week 1 everything is looking great for the Pats. The offense was sharp; Welker looked and played as healthy as he could; and the defense and special teams contributed with TDs of their own. The only problem the Pats face is how the front office will handle Randy Moss. In his press conference he stated this will be his last year as a Pat. This is because he has yet to be offered a contract extension. With Brady just signing a monster contract, 4-year 72 million with 48.5 guaranteed, you think they may have something in store for Moss. However, at this point no one is really sure and we will all just have to wait and see.
All in all the Patriots looked great and look to face their division rivals in Week 2, the New York Jets.
