Got a ton of great feedback from my Michigan rant yesterday. The Wolverine hype will get way worse over the next three weeks because of the schedule, but I still don’t want to hear about them on a national level until they show they can compete within the Big 10…then we’ll talk. But enough about Michigan, its almost midweek…lets link it up.
Sidebar: I’ve been wondering this same thing for about 4 years. Aside from the Purdue game last year (and that really shouldn’t have been close), it seams like the Irish are always on the wrong end of great games. Sometimes I think Brady Quinn took the magic with him (He obviously misplaced it in a Cleveland airport, though).
Sidebar: Not that this was Kelly’s point, but I never this losses are good things. The defense may have battled, but if the result is the exact same as a year ago then who cares? A good loss comes against a vastly superior team and usually comes on the road. I think we can all agree that Michigan is not vastly superior and we all know where the game was played.
Time to stop the Wolverine reflection and start getting ready for the Spartans- Detroit Free Press
Sidebar: Remember the last game at Michigan State? Here’s what I wrote about it two years ago.…it was a killer.
This date in Irish history – 1991
1991: Notre Dame loses to Michigan 24-14 at Ann Arbor. Play of the game was future Heisman Trophy winner Desmond Howard’s diving touchdown catch on a fourth and inches pass from Elvis Grbac.
Enjoy Tuesday. 3 days until Michigan State.
