NCSU vs. Cincinnati Predictions

Well believe this stat or not, NCSU is off to their best start since 2002. Thursday night in Raleigh NCSU (2-0) takes on the Cincinnati Bearcats (1-1). The game will on ESPN and the fans have been told to wear red for a “red out” view on television. So no doubt the crowd will be pumped like they always are at Carter-Finley. But State’s offense?? I am not so sure they will be as pumped. Based on their performance against Central Florida last Saturday, it could be another long night offensively, OY VEY!
State is already showing some of the same problems they had last year. Russell Wilson must shine his talents against Cincy for the Pack to go 3-0. Against Central Florida he was not up to par and rest of offense struggled along with him. Wilson must throw the ball exceptionally well to get this much needed win. He was 10 of 30 on pass completions for a total of 105 yards against Central Florida. The offense just had 65 total yards in the second half last Saturday. These numbers are awful and it’s doubtful another performance like this will result in a win.
But on the other hand, that State defense is looking fabulous. The Pack leads the ACC in turnover margin and total defense. OK, let’s contemplate those facts. Are we that good or is the ACC just that bad this year? WOW, I don’t even know how to sort through my feelings that. But I digress, lets face this fact, State’s offense is SMOKING!!These guys are playing with confidence way beyond their years. They will need another great performance Thursday night against the Bearcats QB Zach Collaros and their dynamic RB duo of Darrin Williams and John Goebel.
