Starting the season with a loss is no reason to panic, however, the way the offence looked may be cause for concern. There have been some comments on social networking sites calling for Brian Brohm to start this weekend. I think we should stick with Edwards until at least week 4 against the Jets. This allows Edwards a chance to redeem himself from the poor performance seen at last week’s opening game 15-10 loss against Miami. It took #5 until the forth quarter to get the ball moving and I believe that if they use the no huddle more frequently against the Packers this Sunday we’ll see greater consistency with him.
There has been discussion whether Chan Gailey’s call to give up the safety was the right decision and after soaking it in for a few days I believe it was the right call. Going for it on 4th and 10 at the 1 yard line and not converting would mean that Miami could just take a knee 4 times and Buffalo would still be on the 1 yard line or they could kick the field goal on 4th and be up by 6. The safety was the best way to give the Bills some field position and try and get a touchdown.
This week the Bills are on the road visiting the Packers for a 1 p.m start. Green Bay is looking to improve on their 1-0 record after beating Philadelphia week 1, 27-20.
I pick Buffalo in another close one 21-20, mostly because my wife says PFFFT to Aaron Rodgers.
