This weekend’s game against the Houston Texans is extra special for me as my family, friends and I will be attending in our annual excursion. We were going to go to last weekend’s game against Dallas, but the tickets were double in price. Knowing the outcome now though it might have been worth the cost!
One to the few things I like best about travelling to Virginia during football season are: Getting my favourite beer in Redskin colours, praise from complete strangers when wearing Redskin colours (instead of negative comments) and getting to see and hear news and coverage that I had no idea about.
Anyway, back to this weekend’s matchup. The Redskins showed great defense last week and this will become their most important aspect of this week’s game. Texans’ Arian Foster recorded 231 running yards and 3 TDs. Kyle Shanahan, the current offensive coordinator for the Washington Redskins, is the former WR coach for the Texans, so any plays he knew, they know and will defend against it. The Redskins MUST get their running game going, special teams and Chris Cooley are key.
Redskins take the field at 4:15 PM at home. Look towards the 15 yard line, 7 rows up on the Redskins side for me cheering them on!

I lived in Greene County Virginia for about 5 years of my childhood. This span of time was enough to imprint the love of the Washington Redskins (and hate of the Dallas Cowboys) into my life forever, even though I am Canadian and still live in Canada. I am in no way an expert on sports, football, or even the Redskins, but I do absolutely adore them, their fans and their home state(s). My favourite Redskin is and will always be Darrell Green (not because we share the same last name lol). I've adored Chris Cooley since he joined the team from the 2004 draft and love London Fletcher. Hail to the Redskins! See you October 30th in my home town of Toronto.
