Wasn’t here yesterday, so we’ll make it up with a swimming pool of links today. I was saved from embarrassment by not getting to the links column because, in the interest of honesty, I would have picked Cincinnati to beat N.C State on the road last night.
It may be a transition year for the Bearcats, but they looked AWFUL. Zach Collaros might begin a “Bring Brian Kelly Back” collection soon. Watching him last night made me feel great about Dayne Crist because clearly Brian Kelly knows how to transform mediocre quarterbacks. Unfortunately for Collaros, the transformation didn’t last.
I like Southern Mississippi at home tonight over Kansas and Cal to beat Nevada on the road.
Now, the links….
Sidebar: Neither have I. The Michigan State game was the one Clausen got hurt in. He still hasn’t recovered. Revenge should be sought for this!

Sidebar: I’d like to think that Notre Dame’s health staff is smart enough to rush a college kid back too soon off a head injury.
This Day in Irish History – 1977
In a thrilling seesaw battle in Jackson, Mississippi, the Rebels defeated the Irish 20-13. Notre Dame rebounded from this early season loss to win nine straight games and beat No.1 Texas in the Cotton Bowl. This game propelled ND to the 1977 National Championship.
