Patriots look to take advantage of confused Jets D

The Patriots are looking to improve to 2-0 after an impressive win over the defending AFC North champion Bengals. However, this week will certainly not be any easier considering they are playing their rivals, The New York Jets.

Unlike The Patriots, The Jets had a very disappointing Week 1 losing 10-9 to the Ravens. After watching HBO’s Hard Knocks The Jets were looking like the real deal and they could easily be Super Bowl contenders. However, their main strength is their defense, which really did not play well against the Ravens. They had over 100 penalty yards in the first half, many of them being on cornerbacks Kyle Wilson and Antonio Cromartie. They had a few holding calls as well as some pass interference calls. Based on that, they will have a tough time trying to defend one of the league’s best QB’s, being Tom Brady. Another disappointment with The Jets defense was their loss for the season of nose-tackle Kris Jenkins. If The Jets cannot replace Jenkins and cannot figure out their defensive back problems, then they will certainly have a very difficult time trying to stop Tom Brady and the very explosive Pats offense.

The Pats are going to have to throw the ball early and often all over the field. Challenge The Jets’s d-backs and make them prove they can actually do something. I think The Pats will definitely jump out first on the scoreboard and take control early. Another problem with The Jets is that their offense is weak with a young leader in QB Mark Sanchez. He cannot make up his mind in the pocket and has not been very accurate in his NFL career. The Jets should have a strong running game, yet Shonn Greene looked awful last week and LT is like 60 years old.

The Pats should look to stack the box all game and force Mark Sanchez to make a play on them. Until that happens, The Pats should be dominating this game. The defense of The Pats looked pretty good last week. This week the offense they are defending is not as tough and it should be a problem for this club. I easily see The Pats winning this one unless The Jets magically figured out how to play better by this Sunday. My prediction is a 27-13 victory for The New England Patriots. Get Some.
