Going into the game Friday night 1-1, KU looked for a convincing road win against Southern Miss. What they found was a Golden Eagle team looking to erase an embarrassing open national TV loss to South Carolina. And indeed they erased it with a 31-16 convincing win over the Jayhawks. It looked like the Jayhawk D was outgassed late in the 2nd half as the up tempo offense of Southern Miss. really got to them, especially the drive that put it to 28-10. Offensively the Jayhawks looked very confused. Using mis-placed timeouts, and having some very awkward formations. Jordan Webb looked very sub par as he threw for 138 yards and one touchdown, which came very late in the game. If the Jayhawks are going to improve they must become more consistent on the offensive side of the ball, or this so called roller coaster of a season will have more lows than highs. The Jayhawks next game will be against to New Mexico State on Sept. 25th in Lawrence.
