“Your not in Kansas anymore”

USM silenced all nay-sayers in this Friday night lights win against the Kansas Jayhawks. The final score was 31-16 in this impressive victory. The Golden Eagles have one of the top defense and offense programs in the nation and they truly showed you this live on Espn. Right from the very beginning you could see the stamina and perseverance in Southern Miss right from play one because they had something to prove to the world. Touchdown after touchdown was the cold dish they Southern Miss was serving to Kansas. There were amazing and memorable plays by Deandre Brown, Justin Wilson, Desmond Johnson, and the impressive punt block by Tim Green. The Golden Eagles all had the same mindset and thoughts this game. The maneuvered around the football field like a well oiled machine.

Austin Davis played like an NFL greek god quarterback, he was where he was supposed to be, when he was supposed to be there. He threw the ball, ran the ball, and was a major contribution to the the success of the team yesterday. Another contribution had to be the fans of this team, the fans dominated The Rock with chants, screams, and calls throughout the whole game, even the slight rain did not deter the fans.  The offense and defense played with such heart yesterday, you can tell they must have read, slept with, and lived their play-books along with eating their wheaties. Southern Miss even made Sports Centers top 10 plays. Southern Missississippi are gunning for the Conference USA title and it is well within their reach, especially if they keep playing the way they have been playing these next couple games.

The next game is away at Louisiana Tech next Saturday September 25th.
