NCSU 30 Cincy 19, Nice Win Pack!

NCSU is enjoying a 3-0 start. This is their best start since their 2002 season. The Cincy QB, Zach Callaros, could never find his groove since the Wolfpack defense was bringing pressure to him most of Thursday evening. He was able to connect for two touchdowns to D.J. Woods later in the game. Don’t expect Cincy’s road to get any smoother after this loss. Next up for them is No. 7 Oklahoma.

State’s Russell Wilson looked much better than he did against Central Florida. In reality, Wilson hasn’t even reach his stride this season yet. Since he missed spring football and didn’t practice much this summer because he was playing baseball.  He put up good numbers, passing for 333 yards and he completed three touchdowns. Wilson was 26-of-40 passes and he ran for 33 yards.

The Wolfpack offense had almost 500 total yards, as Cincy appeared helpless to stop their attack. Other standouts offensively included, Jay Smith and Curtis Underwood, who both had touchdowns. Taylor Gentry had a 8-yard touchdown with 7 1/2 minutes left.  And Mustafa Greene had a 31-yard scoring touchdown. The offense seems to be clicking. That is great timing on their part, because next up for the Pack is Georgia Tech this Saturday. This game will be televised and it will not be a easy one for State, based on Ga. Tech record.

State is back on their regular practice and game schedule after a short week. Hopefully, we will not have to suffer through another whiny press conference from Coach O’Brien. Last week he complained about the schedule and the humidity in Florida. Come on man!!! You were a Marine for goodness sake. Suck it up Tom, its football season. This is what you do.

Well this was a nice showing for State and being on national television is always great for the program. Carter-Finley Stadium is a excellent venue for college football. Good work Pack! Bring on Ga. Tech. WOW 3-0, GO PACK!!!
