We shift our attention to Stanford. Remember when this one used to be a guaranteed mark in the win column? Not so much anymore. Curseyou Jim Harbaugh and your program changing ways! (shakes fist)
At least they’ll be no Toby Gerhardt to worry about this year. On to the links….
Sidebar: I agree 100%. But I don’t think the ND fan is panicking this week. I’d qualify more as frustration. The realistic expectation for this team was only 7 or 8 wins anyway. Based on the schedule and the recent play, that number is still a realistic possibility. If anyone thought this team was winning 9+, then they were setting themselves up for a major letdown anyway.
This day in Irish History – 1996
Before the largest crowd in the history of Darrell K. Royal -Texas Memorial Stadium (83,312) ninth-ranked Notre Dame stormed back in the fourth quarter to upset No. 6 Texas 27-24. Freshman Jim Sanson drilled the game-winning 39-yard field goal as time expired. An 11-yard completion from Ron Powlus to Malcolm Johnson on third-and-eight had set up the winning kick.- from irishlegends.com
