Blue Jackets vs. Washington Capitals

(9:42 pm ) The Blue Jackets fell to the Capitals 6-2 in their second preseason game.  It is great to see Nikita Filatov back in a Blue Jackets uniform and contributing to the offense as he added a goal in the third period.  The Blue Jackets will try to get their second win of the preseason on Friday night against the Pittsburgh Penguins. 

(8:48 pm) After two periods of hockey the Blue Jackets find themselves playing a game of catch-up as they are losing to the Caps 5-1.  Rick Nash has scored the only goal for the Blue Jackets.  Steve Mason stopped 11 of 13 shots while back-up goalie Daren Machesney made 4 saves on 7 shots.  The Blue Jackets continue to out-shoot the Caps 29-20.  David Savard is seeing the most ice time with 17 minutes.

(7:52 pm) At the end of period number one the Blue Jackets trail the Washington Capitals 1-0.  The Blue Jackets are out-shooting the Caps 14-9.  Rick Nashleads all shooters with 4 shots and rookie defenseman David Savard leads all players with 9 minutes and 8 seconds of ice time.
