Boise State vs Oregon State Preview

This week four matchup between the Boise State Broncos and the Oregon State Beavers is the most anticipated home game of the season for the Broncos. Oregon State (1-1) comes into Boise winning its last game against Louisville 35-28 in which the offense, led by superstar running back Jacquizz Rodgers had over 130 yards rushing and three total touchdowns. Boise State (2-0) comes back to Boise for its first home game of the season after a 51-6 victory over Wyoming in which Kellen Moore had a career day throwing for 370 yards and two touchdowns.

This game between two top 25 teams brings many various levels of intrigue.  For one, College Gameday will be traveling to Boise which will create major national buzz for the Broncos. Secondly, Oregon State Coach Mike Riley turned his practice field blue to help prepare his players for the challenges that playing on the blue turf can present.  This game could create major problems for the Broncos as they try to become the first non-AQ team to make it to the national championship game. Oregon State features one of the best running backs in college football, Jazquizz Rodgers.  While he may be little, he brings a dynamic balance of quickness and power that makes him one of the most dangerous players with the ball in his hands.  Boise State will try to limit Rodgers and force first year starter, Ryan Katz to beat the Broncos with his arm.  The Beavers, will have to limit a Broncos offense that averages 42 points a game and brings a balance with Kellen Moore and its stable of running backs that has given the likes of Virginia Tech and Wyoming various amounts of trouble.

This game will be a huge measuring stick for the Broncos as they try to show the nation that they are one of the best teams in the country.  Boise State has 56 consecutive wins at Bronco Stadium and with the talent level that they have, after Saturday it will be extended to 57. Boise State has too many offensive weapons that will give the Beavers defense problems. Kellen Moore and running backs Doug Martin, Jeremy Avery, and D.J. Harper should have no problem asserting themselves against the weaker Beavers defense.  While the Beavers do have one of the best players in college football Jacquizz Rodgers, the Broncos will have no problem limiting Rodgers and containing the Beavers offense.

I predict the Broncos will win 38-17 in a game that will show the nation that Boise State belongs in the national championship talk.
