For the first time since 1979, the Temple Owls are 3-0. That very well may change when they take on Penn State on Saturday. PSU has owned the series and all the margins of dominance are too ridiculous to mention, but let’s just say the Nittany Lions are leading the scoring battle 154-9.
As always, JoePa is not discounting his opponents and saying that the Nittany Lions have to play tough against Temple. Owls coach Al Golden played for Paterno and knows the odds are stacked against him and his team.
Expect to see running back Bernard Pierce get a lot of touches and defensive end Adrian Robinson leading the Temple on D.
For PSU’s offense, Rob Bolden should continue to show his stuff, while Evan Royster, who has 110 rushing yards all season, needs to find his game.
Paterno lit a fire under his team in practices saying that players have to be more aggressive or they will lose their starting jobs, particularly on defense. Temple will be the last of the warm-ups for Big 10 play. The following week the Nittany Lions take on Iowa.
