While Rutgers prepares to continue their winning momentum this season against a tough North Carolina team on Saturday, the team is already preparing to play in a championship environment in the next few years.
The Scarlet Knights and Miami University are close to agreeing on a showdown in 2013 at Yankee Stadium for a clash of former Big East rivals. The schools have met 11 times, with Miami emerging victorious each time. Rutgers has already agreed to play Army next year at the home of the New York Yankees.
Since opening last year, Yankee Stadium has agreed to host various football games including the New Era Pinstripe Bowl game in a battle between Big 10 and Big East teams. It could possible that Rutgers could be playing in the Bronx this December as well.
