The Ravens have another division game this week, Cleveland Browns, after losing a close game to the Bengals. The Ravens are looking to bounce back and reclaim the division in there home opener.
Offense: Edge Ravens
Despite scoring only 19 points in two games, the Ravens have a better offense then the Browns. The Ravens know they can’t let their defense go out there and win every game for them. They know they have to score more points. It’s not like the Ravens have the best offense in the league, its just the Browns are likely to be without starting quarterback Jake Delhomme for another week. On offense, they don’t have anybody that really scares you. They do have Joshua Cribbs but, he’s more of a return specialist. However, Joe Flacco can’t throw four interceptions like he did against the Bengals and Ray Rice needs to jump start this running game. He only has 130 rushing yards in two games. The Browns have given up 259 rushing yards in tow games. Rice should hit century mark.
Defense: Edge Ravens
I think they Ravens were offended when everyone said the New York Jets have the best defense. They haven’t given up a touchdown this season and I don’t think the Browns are going to threaten to get in the end zone. They’re second in the league in total yards, only averaging 214.5 against them. Their third down conversion rate is remarkable, only 14% result into first downs. The Browns have a good defense with Shaun Rogers leading in the middle and they did draft rookie cornerback Joe Haden from Florida. They’re just not comparable to one of the best defenses in the NFL.
Special Teams: Edge Browns
It’s been two weeks in a row where the Ravens gave up a big return, punt and kickoff, that lead to game changing field goals. One game they won and the other was a loss. If they never gave up the big kickoff return last week, the questionable rushing the passer penalty on Terrell Suggs wouldn’t have put them in field goal position. This week, Ravens have there handful with return specialist Joshua Cribbs.
Prediction: Browns 13, Ravens 24
Overall, the Ravens team is better. Nonetheless, this is still a division game that the Ravens shouldn’t take lightly. The Browns could pull out the victory if Cribbs has a monstrous game. Flacco can’t repeat his performance he had against the Bengals. If he does, the Ravens aren’t only in trouble against the Browns but against every team there up against.
