Fantasy Week 3 picks

We’re coming up in week 3 and there have been more injuries and a few intriguing match ups this week.
Most of you will probably run your obvious number 1s like Adrian Peterson at Detroit or Andre Johnson at Dallas and take advantage of good match ups. Here are a few players to target that may be under the radar.
Run them is you got them
Mike Tolbert – If you were able to pick him up off of waivers he should be a run against Seattle this week with Ryan Mathews likely to sit. He is a good receiver out of the back field and will work the goal line so he’ll get the majority of the work. Seattle has shown a good run defense, but that has been against mediocre offenses. San Diego is not a mediocre offense and if Mathews is out for more than this game Tolbert will have some great match ups against Arizona, Oakland, and St. Louis. If ya got him run’em.
Austin Collie – Denver has always had problems with Indianapolis’ pass attack and with Piere Garcon’s hamstring slowing him down Collie will look to get more targets. Collie has already emerged as a more reliable target than Garcon too. He’ll be a good bet this week, especially in a throw first offense.
Don’t play them
Jerome Harrison – Harrison is already in the process of losing his job and his thigh injury isn’t helping. Peyton Hillis is likely to start receiving more carries anyway, and the Browns are facing the Raven’s defense. Harrison is not a good start.
Brandon Jackson – Mike McCarthy has decided on a running back by committee and Jackson just isn’t showing he is an every down back. On top of that he is facing the Bear’s stout run defense at Soldier Field that is ranked 1st after 2 weeks. Keep him benched he may be worth running against Detroit next week.
Keep an eye on them
Donald Brown – Joseph Addai is dealing with a knee problem, and though it is being listed as a minor injury Addai is not known for his durability. The Colts have been wanting to expand Brown’s role as well so keep an eye on Brown if he is lingering on waivers.
Jason Snelling – Snelling exploded last week and though it will earn him a few carries this week, he is still behind Michael Turner. Turner has been cleared to play this week and Mike Smith has insisted that Turner was only kept out of last weeks game because they were ahead by so much. But Turner has also been known to try to play through an injury like he did last season. Turner may over work himself and turn a minor injury into a bigger one. If Snelling hasn’t been snatched off waivers after last week keep an eye on Turner’s status.
