The Patriots were expected to blow-out the Buffalo Bills in Week 3, but ended up winning by only 8 points. The Bills are a below-average team and The Patriots made them look like an upper tier team. The Bills offense looked great as did their special teams. Ryan Fitzpatrick looked like a top-10 QB when certainly he is not. Rookie C.J. Spiller returned a kick-off for a TD while embarrassing the Pats Special Teams. The Pats Defense was pathetic against both the pass and the run. They basically couldn’t stop anything and are lucky their offense is so good. The Pats Offense did look okay. They did a good job at picking apart The Bills Defense, but still could have done better. Both Welker and Moss were not used as much as they should have been, and Brady needs to start throwing for 300+ yards a game. The one good note that came out of this game was Green-Ellis. He ran the ball 16 times for 98 yards and scored. It is good to know the Patriots have something more than just their pass game.
The Patriots have A LOT to work on this week to prepare for the Dolphins next Monday night. Unless they figure out some strategy for the defense, The Dolphins are going to run all over them. The Pats also face a much tougher defense than they did this week. That being said, Brady really has to utilize both WRs Welker and Moss.
Let’s hope The Patriots come to play next week and find a way to stop the run.
