Fantasy Week 3 Waivers

It felt like a grind it out week during week 3. Some players with some big days and the rest mediocre days. Now were are really getting into the thick of the NFL fantasy season. Hopefully your team is doing well and only need some minor tweaks, but if not here some waiver pick ups that may help plug some holes on your team.

Willis McGahee – McGahee should be owned in most deep leagues, but he is showing as available in a lot. Ray Rice’s injury isn’t looking too significant and it’s being reported that he may be out only for a week, but knee injuries tend to linger and cause issues. McGahee is a good pick up to hold on your bench to see how this plays out, and is a decent filler if you need a back for the bye week, but don’t count on too much as he will be facing the Steelers defense.

Louis Murphy – Maybe it’s the coaches or maybe it’s the players, but Bruce Gradkowski seems to bring the Raiders players to life whenever he plays, at least from a fantasy perspective. Louis Murphy has had 11 receptions, 200 yards, and a touchdown in the last 2 games that Gradkowski has played. With a match up against Houston’s terrible secondary Murphy could continue to shine.

Peyton Hillis – After this week Hillis will likely see the majority of the carries in Cleveland. Especially after 144 yard performance against a tough Ravens D. He is till showing as available in 54% of leagues. If he’s there snatch him up. His match ups aren’t great across the board, but he has shown he can run against good defenses.

Aaron Hernandez – He is available in most leagues and is looking more like a wide out than a tight end. Hernandez has had 6 receptions in each of the last 2 games and if they start using him more in the red zone his value could sky rocket. Take him as a back up who could end up your starter, but don’t over extend yourself as New England’s bye week is next week.

Mike Nugent – Nugent is still on the boards, only being owned in 18% of leagues. Nugent is tied for most field goals in the league with 8, he hasn’t missed this season, and more over he has 3 from 40 yards or more. The Bengals offense drives the field well and seems willing to settle for field goals. He is out performing top kickers Nate Kaeding, Steven Gostkowski, and Garret Hartley by at least 4 field goals.

Graham Gano – Washington’s kicker, and apparently their punter too, has had steady production with at least 2 field goals in each game this season. The Redskins have been able to drive the ball down the field, but are having real issues with getting the ball in the end zone which bods well for kickers. He is currently has 7 field goals on the season and is available 97% of leagues.
