Palmer Looks Bad Again

It was one of the worst games of the weekend, possibly the worst.  Once again the offense looked out of sync.  There’s really nothing else you can say about this game besides that Carolina may be the worst team in the NFL.

What’s up with Carson Palmer?  Why is he getting worse?  He went 19/37 for 195 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions.  Once again, he looked atrocious.  He’s making mental mistakes, and just simply not throwing good balls out to his receivers.

Cedric Benson looked good, although he only averaged 3.0 yards per carry.  He finished the contest with two touchdowns (1 rush, 1 receiving).  He had 27 carries for 81 yards.  Benson scored his first touchdown on a one-yard plunge in the 1st quarter.  He put the game away in the 4th with a 7-yard touchdown catch.

Rookie TE Jermaine Gresham continues to impress.  He caught four balls for 59 yards.

While the offense continues to struggle, the defense has played well the last two weeks after being embarrassed in week one by New England.  Carolina rookie quarterback Jimmy Clausen made his first career start.  He had no shot.  Leon Hall did a great job covering Steve Smith.  He even added an interception.

With the win, the Bengals snapped a five-game losing streak.  They’re off to Cleveland to play the winless Browns next week.
