This weekend is a big weekend for Iowa State, if they win this weekend against Texas Tech, then they will be on a two game winning streak and above .500. Which will give them a big confidence boost along with their win this past Saturday against UNI .
Texas Tech will be ready and edger to play coming off a bye week this past weekend and a 14-24 lost to in state rival Texas the week before, and will be looking for a win to make get back to .500.
The good thing for the Cyclones they are back at home again. If the trend keeps going the way it has so far this season, which is, a game at home automatically leads to a win. The defense needs to have a repeat performance this week forcing the red raiders to turn the ball over and give their offense a chance to dominate. But they have tough assignment which is to stop Texas Tech running game by forcing their star running back Kenny Williams to put on the brakes.
Last time these two teams met back in ’07 Texas Tech dominated Iowa State 42-17 victory at home, but this time they are on the road. If the Cyclones want to make it out of this battle on top they need to strike early and keep the momentum up through out the whole game and play top notch football on both sides of the ball.
