Yotes vs. Oil: tonight’s lineup

Posted By Scott Pattison On Sep 29 2010 @ 2:36 pm In Edmonton Oilers | No Comments

Fresh off a loss to the Calgary Flames Tuesday evening, the Phoenix Coyotes travel north to Edmonton tonight to take on the “undefeated” Edmonton Oilers down at The Drug Store.

Jeff Deslaurier will get the start in goal for Edmonton, which could determine whether he remains with the organization moving forward. Hard to believe so much of a man’s future could ride on one game, but alas, such is the life of a professional hockey player.

The Coyotes will have their hands full attempting to shut down the Oilers first line tonight, as Magnus Paajarvi and Ales Hemsky will lineup with centre Sam Gagner.

That combination will surely have Head Coach Tom Renney and Oil fans salivating, especially on the heels of Paajarvi’s hat-trick performance in his last preseason game.

Oilers Lineup

Magnus Paajarvi – Sam Gagner – Ales Hemsky

Dustin Penner – Andrew Cogliano – Gilbert Brule

Liam Reddox – Colin Fraser – Ryan Jones

Alexandre Giroux – Ryan O’Marra – Colin McDonald

Ladislav Smid – Alex Plante

Taylor Chorney – Tom Gilbert

Richard Petiot – Kurtis Foster

Jeff Deslauriers, Starting Goaltender; Martin Gerber, Backup Goaltender

In the meantime Oiler fans, chins up…sticks down.
