This game is going to be the most exciting match-up in College Football. 2 top 10 teams, both with young impressive Quarterbacks, and young impressive Running Backs. Some of the best young talent will be on display at Autzen Stadium Saturday night. Andrew Luck looks to make his first appearance at Autzen, a place that has taken many of the best Quarterbacks down. The Place will be rocking and everyone will be in Black, its the Oregon Blackout Night. Luck has had a very good season so far throwing for 912 yards and 11 Td’s and only 2 Int’s. Luck is one of the nations best QB’s and he’s only a sophomore. He helped lead his Cardinals to a victory last year in Palo Alto against the Ducks giving them their only Pac 10 loss of the season in a shootout 51-42.
The Ducks look to put last years loss to Stanford way behind them and come out strong at home and continue their dominance. Last weeks game at Arizona State was a little closer then the Ducks were wanting, or expecting. But a win is a win and that’s all they wanted to get out of Arizona with. Oregon’s defense is definitely going to have to play better then they did against the Sun Devils, where they gave up 597 Yards! They wont be able to give up that kind of yardage to Stanford. They are a very good football team, you don’t get ranked #9 in the country not being a good team. I think one of the biggest keys though is to try and contain Andrew Luck, the Heisman Candidate has been very solid so far in his first 4 games. But like i mentioned before, he has never played in Autzen. There is nothing like the crowd there and it will get very loud and i am very anxious to see how he handles it.
Another major key will still be the Oregon offense although they haven’t been stopped yet, Stanford comes in with one of the better defenses in the nation, only giving up 13.8 Points per game. Darron Thomas and LaMichael James will lead the Oregon attack once again. The Ducks need to come out swinging early and get on the score board first. That’s one thing the Ducks do very well, is score… and score very quick. They have scored an amazing 231 Points so far this season, in only 240 minutes of play.
So like I’ve mentioned a few of the keys to the Ducks Success in their toughest test so far is going to be trying to contain Andrew Luck. Also getting on the score board early. So like I’ve done every blog so far, i will do my best to make a prediction to the game. This one is a real tough one to guess the outcome. I think the Ducks offense is just too much for Stanford to contain and i believe the Ducks win 45-35 in a shootout and move to 5-0 and 1 step closer to another Rose Bowl.
