Yup. . .that’s gotta be what the Colts are thinking about Jacksonville right now because the Jags look a lot less potent than bona fide jaguars right now. . . and Jaguars head coach Jack Del Rio probably had enough headaches this week thinking about the game that he could be the Advil Poster Child.
Let’s face it….this game is not going to be fun for the Jags.
The Colts are ranked 7th in the league in total offense and the Jaguars are ranked 19th. Back that stat up with two others: Jags are ranked 31st in total touchdowns with 4 and they have a 22.2% scoring efficiency which ranks them at 28th in the league.
I’m no math major but put those stats against the Colts who are 5th in the league in scoring efficiency and 2nd in the league with 10 touchdowns and you come to the same deduction I did for Jacksonville. . .
Alright. . . I hear what you are thinking. The Jaguars historically run the ball better than the Colts. Heck. . . most teams run better than the Colts but we have Peyton. . . nuff said there. And let’s look in the now. Do you realize how many rushing touchdowns the Jags have had this season thus far?
Zero. Zip. Zilch. Nada.
Maurice Jones-Drew is averaging about 3.8 yds per carry. Not the worst average per carry but his total yardage for the year is already off pace for this time last year and since he has no touchdowns yet, we can’t even throw that stat out the window. Basically, he’s been ineffective. The whole Jaguars rushing game has been ineffective. And QB David Garrard is also missing in action. 4 TDs and 5 INTs, sacked 10 times, with a 66.7% rating. No wonder they signed Trent Edwards. Yeah. . .that’ll help. . .ask the Bills.
Is it just me or can everyone hear Robert Mathis giggling to himself thinking about Sunday?
The Colts are going to score their points on Sunday. They rank 2nd in scoring with a 29.7 ppg average so you all know that putting points on the board is not going to be an issue. The only concern Colts’ fan should have is our defense: making sure we adjust to the on-field performance of Garrard and Jones-Drew.
It should big win for the Colts on Sunday, I’m thinking 34-14. . .and 14 is really generous folks.
