Notre Dame Football: Monday Links

Take this opportunity to relish in the fact that Notre Dame is undefeated in October. It may be just one game, but the schedule over the course of the years tenth month is more favorable then September, for sure. It’s not an impossibility that “undefeated in October” tag could stick for a long time.
This is the month that Brian Kellys year one plan will be fully explored. It was hard to try too many things out when you’re playing two really good teams (Michigan St and Stanford) and one team that boasts a player who’s become the talk of college football (Michigan). That’s a tough month, no matter who you are.
This weeks game against Pittsburgh is the hardest of the month. But even Pitt is a hard team to gage. This is a club that lost a bad one on opening night against Utah and was destroyed at home against Miami. They have tons of offensive talent, but don’t quite have a grasp on how to use it properly.
It’s bound to be an easy October when the most worrisome game of the month would have been the fourth toughest game of September…. (odds of me making fun of this sentence in three weeks- 1 to 5)
Hey! Here are some links….
Any time a new coach comes in, theres going to be a period of transition. Transition and winning don’t usually go hand in hand.
I get the sentiment, but I don’t agree. A school with the history that Notre Dame does shouldn’t hide from the fact that there are certain expectations. That’s always going to exist, its a by – product of prolonged success. It’s up to the coaching staff to put that history is prospective and bring in recruits that can handle that kind of pressure. Not every college football player has the make up to play for Notre Dame. It takes a special brand of kid. It’s up to Kelly to find and breed the correct ones becaue they certainly still exist.
