Day 2 of Pittsburgh week…Interesting story line: Brian Kelly is quite familiar with Pitt after spending three years in the Big East. Kelly beat the Panthers last year in a final weekend shootout that sent the Bearcats to a BCS bowl. It was also the infamous game where Kelly reportedly told his players, in a speech to inspire unity and brotherhood, that he had decided to come back to Cincinnati in 2010.
uh, as the kids say, awkward…..
More on this and tons of other things in today’s link – a – palooza…
I assume he is talking about the Boston College win when he talks about celebrating. That, or he has some kind of crystal ball. Either way, wins are good things.
Some interesting stuff here on Cierre Wood. Despite the mistakes, I still don’t think he’s used nearly enough.
I don’t know how much respect Pittsburgh deserves. They already have two very bad losses. At the beginning of the season, I remarked that if the Panthers beat Utah in week one, they could have a good chance to go undefeated. Boy, was I wrong. Two losses in September and Pitt is thanking it’s lucky stars that it plays in the Big East….Is this a team that deserves respect?
….and of course its a “smoother road,” after all Stanford, Michigan State, and Michigan are all better then Pitt.
This day in Irish football history – 1912
In one of the easiest victories in Notre Dame history, junior quarterback Gus Dorais leads the Irish to a 116-7 rout of St. Viator in the season-opener. Second year coach John L. Marks would again guide Notre Dame to an undefeated season in 1912, following up a 6-0-2 record in 1911 with a 7-0-7 mark.
Enjoy Tuesday. 4 more days until Pitt.
