Patience is the Word!!!

It’s pretty clear that trying to rebuild a team in one season like Brian Burke is trying to do in Toronto does not work because the cupboards are bare so there is no building going on. Dale Tallon’s work at the draft and at the trade tables in the short time he has been around is a good beginning.

The word for the Panthers is PATIENCE. The best indication of how quickly the rebuild takes place will probably come from watching the Rochester Americans play and by following how well the other young guns develop.

Vokoun will see alot of rubber this year, and there will not be nearly enough scoring to win enough games to qualify for the playoffs. The rebuild has only just begun, and now the organization will be severely tested as far as how well they develop all of this potential… Gudbranson, Howden, Bjugstad, McFarland… and so on.

Where will the goals come from and who is going to step up first? The good news is that goaltending is one of the strengths, so that’s a good start.

Pittsburgh had four first round draft picks in the top two to build their team around. Chicago had three first round picks in the top three to build around. So be patient.
