Flames Ready To Hit The Ice

TSN says the Flames will make the playoffs. The blog world says they won’t.

What I do know is they do have the ability to make the playoffs. They have the goaltending. They have the defense core. They in theory have more scoring. Now it has to come together. If it does this team will challenge the Canucks at the top of the division. If it doesn’t Sutter and co. could be fired by Christmas.

The top two lines tonight against the Oilers will look like this if practice is any indication..

Tanguay-Jokinen-Iginla
Hagman-Morrison-Bourque

Brendan Morrison should be inspired after not making the Canucks on an open tryout. Thankfully for Brendan the Flames had a need for another center due to the injuries to Stajan, Langkow, Stone, and Moss. He should fit in with the Flames and adds some speed to the 3rd line when everyone is healthy.

So at 10pm EST the Flames take their 7-0 pre season record and see if it carries over to the regular season against the Edmonton Oilers. Rexall should be rocking tonight as the big 3 kids for the Oil make their regular season debut. Don’t be surprised if we see some fisticuffs early as the Flames will try and make life hard on the Oilers young stars.

Thank god hockey is back!

Have a good one!
