The Penn State Nittany Lions (3-2,0-1 Big Ten) look to bounce back from a tough defeat last week in the hands of the Iowa Hawkeyes. The Hawkeyes made it three straight victories and gave the Nittany Lions their first conference loss a week ago.
This week the Nittany Lions will be back home against the Fighting Illini of Illinois (2-2, 0-1 Big Ten). The contest is the Nittany Lions’ 91st Homecoming Game. Penn State has gone 65-20-5 all-time on homecoming games and are 39-5 under Coach Joe Paterno. The Fighting Illini are coming off a 24-13 home loss to No. 2 Ohio State. This is their first away game of the season. The game will be televised on ESPN2 with Bob Wischusen and Brian Griese calling the play-by-pay. This will be the 196th time that the Nittany Lions will be televised out of 198 games. Joe Paterno comes into the game as the active leader in wins amongst all FBS (1-A) coaches, and the fastest to 300 wins as well.
The Nittany Lions will be meeting Illinois for the 18th time. Penn State is leading the series 14-3 which includes an 11-2 mark since the Nittany Lions joined the Big Ten in 1993.
Kickoff is at 12:01
