The Bengals get put in a unique situation with their upcoming game against Tampa Bay on Sunday. The Bucs are 2-1, but come off a bye after getting trounced at home to Pittsburgh. They did start off 2-0, but they beat two bad football teams to start the year. Regardless, they are 2-1, and many prognosticators have mixed opinions on Tampa Bay.
The Buccaneers showcase a football team with young players at their core positions. QB Josh Freeman seems to improve every week, but for whatever reason, he doesn’t get the same recognition of other young starting quarterbacks. He gets lost in the shuffle. His quarterback play reminds me a lot of a young Ben Roethlesberger. Freeman is a big guy, about 6’6. He’s got a gun and is adept at scrambling and making plays with his legs.
Cincinnati’s offense finally woke up last week, but the team still lost a 23-20 heartbreaker. It was a game that quite frankly they should have probably won. Palmer threw for 300+ yards and Owens had 200+ yards receiving. Now the passing game goes up against a better secondary. Barber may be getting up their in age, but he and Talib make a solid duo at cornerback.
The biggest disappointment last week was the defense. The offense finally established a rhythm, but the run defense struggled against Peyton Hillis. They get one of the worst rushing attacks this week in Tampa Bay.
PREDICTION- Cin- 20-10
It seems like the offense has turned it around a bit. I’ll take last weeks performance into consideration, but now its time to translate last week’s success into this week. I don’t think Tampa Bay matches up with Bengals. Cincinnati should win rather comfortably.

I currently work for the Sports Network. It's the best job ever! I am a 2010 graduate of Temple University where I majored in broadcast journalism, I LOVE SPORTS! That's why I am here. I have a vast knowledge and want to share my athletic intelligence with the world. Some people like to spend their time shooting down aliens in Halo; I like to spend my time watching sports, current and old. It's my passion! I got asked one time how I can watch a game over again when I already know the outcome. 5 minutes later, he's watching Happy Gilmore reciting all of the lines from the movie. Hypocrite! As for my favorite sports teams, I've been a lifelong Philadelphia sports fan. My favorite athlete is Allen Iverson. He didn't like practice that much, but when it came to gametime, no one let it all out on the floor like Iverson. He is absolutely beloved in the city of Brotherly Love. For college athletics, obviously I pay close attention to Temple. (Yes, football too) Even before I stepped foot on Temple's campus for the 1st time in 2005, I was a fan. Oh the good old days of John Chaney! Some other tidbits about myself, I love cheesesteaks, I hydrate myself with Welch's Grape Juice and Snapple. I love the HBO show Entourage. Also, when is Kenny Powers making his much anticipated return in Eastbound and Down!
