Utah 68, Iowa State 27

Well my the look of the score it wasn’t pretty Cyclone fans but it was a good effort by Iowa State. Early on in the game, like in the first quarter it look as though it was going to be a challenging game for the Uteps because it was back and forth battle. The defense for Iowa State came up big early causing two turnovers by Utah, which step up two touchdowns for the good guys.  But in the second quarter it was all Utah. The defense for Utah shut down the “O” for Iowa State.

Then the Utes offense got rolling and once that started there was no stopping them, they scored 31 of their 41 points first half points in the second quarter alone. The defense for Utah blanked the Cyclones by not allowing a single point. But the Iowa State offense led by Austen Arndaud didn’t give up on trying to score, the only time they had a slight chance to get any points in the second quarter was quickly lost by a missed field goal by Grant Mahoney.

Second half wasn’t that bad, Utah only scored 17 points in the third quarter and look as though was loosing their steam in the fourth by only scoring 10 points. The Utes victory in my opinion is not that big of shot because of where the two teams sit right now so far this season. Iowa State seems to have their good days and their bad days, the seemed to play very well at home rather than on the road. They are a team that are not one of the top teams in the Big12 but you don’t know what to except from them either. They might surprise their opponent with a huge win like they did last week against Texas Tech, but who knows.  Utah on the other hand has pretty much man handled pretty much every team they have played thus far.

Overall this game might left the Cyclones with a sour taste in their mouth cause it was their first lost at home this season, which is where the Cyclones play well at home and seem to have the most confidence, but all they can do now is learn from this game it turn around and come up with a victory next week but it will be even tougher than this week cause they are are going up against #6 Oklahoma on the road.
