Dallas goes to 1-3 in loss to Tennessee—wasn’t meant to be

I think the heading covers it all, wasn’t meant to be.   What do I say? What can be said? The Dallas Cowboys are now 1-3, no more bye weeks to re-group, the offensive line cannot create gaps for any element of a running game and the ‘O’ line can’t protect Dallas quarterback Tony Romo either.

A little re-cap of yesterday’s game, Dallas got off to a bad start, Tennessee was moving the ball almost at will.  Between Vince Young at QB and RB Chris Jonhson running the ball at will, it was another un-successful Sunday out of Texas stadium.

Well there was a lot of positive to bring from yesterday’s game, Dallas coming back, great 2nd half, Romo threw for over 400 yards, Felix Jones having his best game of the season, Miles Austin keeping the Cowboys in the game and Jason Witten again catching key catches for 1st downs.  Dallas also held a huge time of possession but what matters most is the Cowboys lost and this does not sit well with this Cowboy blogger and am sure any Cowboy fans who reads this and or Cowboy Management.

The 1st half the Cowboys were running after the Titans, following them like a lost puppy.  The Cowboys came out in the 2nd half a charged up team, scoring, moving the ball, Romo looked like the Romo of old finding his receivers until what seemed to be Romo getting so minorly clipped for another Titan sack (6 in total) and penalties, what can I say but you are not going to win football games with 12+ penalties for over 130 yards, that is like a free TD just on not being disciplined, focused and that also does not bode with me.  (See Packers/Bears Monday night game from a few weeks ago if you want an example of penalties).  Witten/Colombo potentially single handedly gave the game with the 15 yardpenalty that led to the the winning score for the Titans.  I personally do not like the celebration penalty; let them celebrate although I agree not excessively.  Was it excessive? insert comment here!!!!!!.

Romo threw 3 interceptions and again, why do the Cowboys not run the ball more and Marion Barber just is not handling the ball, getting those yards, which we are, so used to.  Personally I think his days as a Cowboy might be numbered.  Romo was trying to hard to get a completion when he could check the ball off to a number of players for gains, instead 3 INT’s, brutal.

Another day of a missed field goal, Romo looking to throw the ball more than running and we have another loss in Cowboy Nation.   The loss leaves the Cowboys at 1-3 and with the Giants, Redskins and Eagles all sitting at 3-2 makes the Cowboys looking into a door that is slowly closing.  I am of course hoping the Cowboys can open the door and still find a way to win football games and than we can talk about post-season but now it is back to basics, one game at a time well everyone laughs at the Cowboys well they are beating themselves up.

3rd and 34, come on, that is just wrong.  Dallas is such a better team than what we have seen so far this season.  Over-thinking, not thinking at all, focus, football is such a hard game and if you are not going to try, nothing is going to come easy.  4 quarters people…..

see ya’all later in the week

comments, questions, concerns…..I am listening and might even agree with you!!!!!!!
