Ok, one word describes the win against the Browns – Defense. The Falcons’ defense held the Browns (I know it’s the Browns) offense in check. Of course it was over for the Browns when Jake Delhome came in the game. The Falcons’ defense closed the book on the Browns when Kroy Biermann tipped Jake’s pass, caught it in mid-air, rolled on the ground got up and scampered into the end zone to put the game out of reach. Oh, there were some brilliant plays, especially when the Falcons decided to air it out on a 45 yard strike to White for a TD. Turner had 140 on 19 carries. But when it counted in the red zone the Falcons only came up with 6 points. But it was the defense that kept the Falcons in the game and eventually won it for them. 3 sacks and 2 INTs set up the Falcons for the win. I can only hope the Falcons’ offense can catch up to the production of the defense. Special teams need some work as well. This week a blocked field goal. C’mon! Get it together. Now that all being said, I was told today that I shouldn’t hitch my wagon on the Falcons’ deceiving 4-1 record. I say to that football fan, I am and hitching it hard. The first loss was against Pittsburgh at Pittsburgh and a pretty good defense. A blowout against the Cardinals. A super lucky win against the defending Superbowl and division champs. A come from behind win against the winless Niners and now a Defensive win against the Browns. 4-1 is still 4-1 and like I said last week, a win is a win. Of course the guy was a Eagles fan – who the Falcons face next week.
