Lebron Looks Good In That Heat Uniform; Bosh Looks Even Better

The build-up for the superstar trio of Wade, James, and Bosh has been expectedly huge.  Fans in Miami are beyond pumped, while most NBA fans in other cities resent the Heat and all the attention that has been poured upon them.  Meanwhile, the players themselves just wanted to get on the court.  Unfortunately, three minutes into the preseason Dwyane Wade went down with a strained hamstring, so nobody outside of the Heat coaching staff has seen much of these three playing together.  Wade himself however, pointed out that Miami has seen plenty of him during his seven years.  The lack of #3 on the court has shifted the focus primarily to LeBron James, who has looked very good.  Chris Bosh though, has looked great.

During this 2010 preseason both LeBron and Bosh have similar averages when it comes to minutes played and points scored, but it’s Miami’s newly acquired power forward who has been the most impressive.  He is shooting 57% from the field.  That is a Shaq-like figure.  Unlike Shaq, Bosh is not just dunking the ball.  He is shooting 10-15 foot jumpers, using the glass very well, and also happens to be hitting free throws at a 78% clip.  No Shaq there.  Chris is grabbing 5-6 rebounds a game, which is on pace for 10-11 once you have him playing a full game instead of 23-24 MPG.  In fact, the Heat frontcourt as a whole has been impressive.  Udonis Haslem has been very good so far.  If you combine the production of UD and Bosh, it’s almost 30PPG and 15RPG during the preseason.  Miami hasn’t had those type of numbers on a consistent basis in a long time and keep in mind that these numbers are all with limited minutes during the preseason.

The regular season is coming up soon and there is no question that Boston will be a great test for Miami on opening night.  If Wade and James are healthy, they should put on a show, but the more intriguing battle might be down low, where Shaq and Kevin Garnett will wrestle with Bosh and Haslem, in addition to others.  With the exception of Rajon Rondo the Heat are the younger team, so one would expect them to have an edge, but the atmosphere will be that of a playoff game on opening night and Boston is loaded with experience.  Whether you are a hater or a lover of this team, no doubt it will be fun to watch the ride.
