Nets Preseason Report

Posted By Bennett Snyder On Oct 16 2010 @ 2:50 pm In New Jersey Nets | No Comments

It has been 6 games and the New Jersey Nets are 3-3. However, their only wins came against Maccabi Haifa(?) and two wins against the 76ers, or as they are known around the league, the Maccabi Haifa JV team. In their losses, they put up a good fight against Boston and lost to Houston twice in China. After seeing the recent brawl when the Chinese beat up on some Brazilians, the Nets knew they shouldn’t infuriate Yao and the crowd or they’d suffer a similar fate. It is hard to gauge how well they are doing because preseason basketball is more meaningless than preseason football.

Brook Lopez has been their best player in almost every game and the same should continue into the regular season.  Devin Harris has been solid, while Derrick Favors has been disappointing overall, and has shown no greatness, just some athleticism. The man who has surprised the most is Terrence Williams, he, for the most part, has been the Nets second best player so far and has been able to score, which was the knock on his game coming out of college.

The Nets have two more preseason games against the Knicks and Celtics before their home opener against Detroit on October 27th. By the way Nets fans, their 2nd game is against Sacramento and Demarcus Cousins, who will be looking for revenge after the Nets skipped him for Favors, and the third game against the Miami Heat, so get your tickets now.
