San Jose State Has No Answers for Broncos as They Tear Apart the Spartans

Well again the Broncos showed why after this season they will be leaving the WAC and heading into the more competitive MWC. When Boise State arrived in San Jose the Spartans knew they had no chance winning this game. I traveled down to San Jose State for this game, and I kept hearing the same things over and over from Spartan fans. They too knew that their team stood no chance in winning. They kept coming up to me and the group that I was with telling us that they knew that this game wouldn’t be close.  And in fact that statement held true, as the Broncos left San Jose with a 48-0 victory over the Spartans.

Kellen Moore again led the Boise offense as he threw for 231 yards and 2 touchdowns.  Doug Martin had another solid day as he added two touchdowns in the game.  This game would have been more lopsided had Coach Petersen not opted to go with the reserves after halftime. Bay Area quarterback Joe Southwick got some solid playing time as he looks to be the future of the Broncos offense after Kellen Moores departs. Linebacker Aaron Tevis returned an interception for a touchdown as the Broncos scored their third defensive touchdown of the year.

On Sunday, the first BCS standings of the year came out.  Oklahoma as well as Oregon were ranked ahead of the Broncos. These latest rankings show why the BCS needs to be taken out and replaced by a playoffs system.  Oklahoma only has two victories where it has beaten their opponents by more 8 points.  Oregon, has only one quality victory this season and that was against Stanford at home. The BCS is a flawed system period. It favors the major schools within the big 6 conferences and leaves the likes of Boise State and TCU to hope all year long that maybe they can get lucky and get into a BCS bowl game. In order to make college football fair the system needs to be changed. And it all starts with giving every team from every conference the chance to prove that they are the best team in the country.
